Fashion Marketing and Public Relations Internship - Remote

Job Description

This role focuses on public relations and marketing initiatives for Fashion Index. You'll work directly with our founders to develop and execute PR strategies, manage media relationships, and create compelling content that positions Fashion Index as a leader in the fashion sourcing industry.

This is an unpaid internship. Fashion Index is fully aware of and in compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and all Department of Labor regulations. Only current students at the time of the internship are eligible for this internship.

Check with your school's Internship Coordinator BEFORE accepting the hiring offer to determine if this position satisfies the criteria for receiving academic credit. To be eligible for this internship position, you must be enrolled in, planning to enroll, or accepted for enrollment in an academic internship course or experience recognition program through your college or university that will run concurrently with this internship opportunity.

Qualifications: Working towards a Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Fashion, or Business degree. Candidates with other relevant majors will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute public relations strategies
  • Create press releases and media kits
  • Build and maintain media relationships
  • Monitor brand mentions and industry coverage
  • Assist with event planning and coordination
  • Create content for various marketing channels
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Proficient in Canva and Google Workspace
  • Knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X/Twitter Content
  • Pay: Unpaid, for College/Academic Credit. This requires a concurrent internship class.
  • Job Duration: About 15 weeks.
  • Schedule: Minimum of three days/week, flexible. At least 10 hours/week meeting the requirements of your college/university and Fashion Index.
  • Work Location: 100% remote.
  • Skills:

    • Understanding of PR principles and media relations
    • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines
    • Proficiency in social media platforms
    • Basic knowledge of AP style writing
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Education: In college majoring in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Fashion, or related field.
